I have a special interest in coaching women (as part of the diversity pool).
Coaching will assist with improving your performance or career goals in the shorter term, to achieve a specific aim.


Coaching is about helping/facilitating and helping you navigate your growth, rather than teaching, and focuses on both the present and the future.

Mentorship

Young, Talented Employees and Graduates


Young graduates often need to find their feet in the world of business, and in many cases do not understand what is required of them from a behavioural perspective.


I offer mentorship to young, talented employees, to build their capability and confidence – by providing guidance, emotional support, and insight into high performance, to help with a successful, happy and exciting transition into the workplace.


For graduates, I serve as a guide, providing both professional and personal advice, feedback, and support in this change from being a student to an effective working employee.


As a mentor I am enthusiastic about supporting goals, respectful of abilities and willing to champion for success. By providing a supportive environment I can empower you to embrace your uniqueness and  build your strengths.
I help graduates decode the unwritten rules of corporate culture, fine tune people skills and provide tactical strategies for conquering career milestones.


I have worked with students from various disciplines such as engineering, accounting, supply chain, environment, law, and fashion, etc. at the Durban University of Technology and other institutions.  Through the mentorship process I have assisted with their career progress, which has been beneficial and exciting to them.

COUNSELLING

Emotional Wellbeing / Mental Health Coaching

Encouraging employees to be open about their emotional wellbeing is important is beneficial for the individual and the business. Being your authentic self allows for greater impact at work and encourages  self-worth and self-actualisation.

 Counselling concentrates on the person’s past and present to deal with healing emotional pain or with emotional difficulties.

My sessions are geared towards understanding and resolving any difficulties or stumbling blocks in the road thereby helping someone move forward and be able to reach their potential, and work towards being their best selves. In our complex world people often struggle emotionally with fear, anxiety, loneliness, and change.

Covid has changed the perspectives of many employees – who are ready to do something new and different, leaving corporates with a need to fill a new gap and build new skills. There is therefore an emerging need to work with affected employees and corporates to address the impact that Covid has had on people to build a positive outcome.

 I am interested in helping to build open communication in the workplace to foster an environment where team members feel safe discussing mental health. I am also available for workshops and presentations, as well as bespoke coaching interventions on this issue.

Significantly a number of the students I have mentored have experienced mental health problems that required guidance to assist and manage.

The types of counselling I deal with are:

Human Resources/ Business coaching

In many organisations, managers are often required to lead their employees with little or no training which can be ineffective. 


As an HR coach and business coach I offer one-on-one planning, feedback and assessment for high-level executives, managers, and supervisors, addressing human resource issues and opportunities that affect an entire organisation.


By targeting leadership skills and behavioural areas that require attention, I can help improve employee relations and positively impact productivity and profitability.


I have worked with new managers who have had no training in leadership to build effective leadership capabilities.

The types of counselling I deal with are:

• Mental health and wellness, with organisations having employees who have struggled with the complexities of covid over the past few years
• Trauma counselling

High Level Mediation

There are rising levels of conflict in the workplace that can be resolved before going to litigation.


Conflict in the workplace can occur in any employment relationship when people with diverse backgrounds, expectations and needs work together. If left unchecked, conflict can escalate, potentially leading to disciplinary action, employment hearings or even dismissals. 


Mediation is a valuable alternative that can be used to guide people towards reaching mutually acceptable solutions at an early stage before disputes are formalised. 


A vital role of the mediator is to help people engage with each other and to have the ‘missing and difficult conversations’ required. These conversations need to take place to rebuild relationships and to be able to work together more constructively in the future.


I can assist with mediation in the following areas, amongst others:

•    Returning  to work after Covid
